We conducted a full renovation of this upper villa in the Braids. The client wanted to create a light and airy living environment that suited their lifestyle. Working alongside ABC Architecture, we carried out a number of structural works to reconfigure the internal spaces and utilise disused spaces.
We created a number of bespoke storage solutions, like creating an opening in the wall to insert the client’s large American fridge freezer and stealing some space from the under-stair cupboard to create a small kitchen pantry cupboard (as seen at the end of the worktop). We also created a shower room in what was once an old storage cupboard.
The property benefitted from a full rewire, new lighting design throughout, re-plastered walls and a new heating system. Stylish column radiators were installed in each room. We also designed and fabricated a number of skirting boards, architraves and window shutters to match the existing features in the property. We laid new extra-wide planks of dark wood on the first level; floors on the second level were sanded and sealed. Once the construction work was completed, it was decorated throughout in a muted palette and the floors were sealed and sanded.
